This publication is dedicated to effective use of quantitative methods in scope of cardiologic diseases in Poland. The publication aims to present a systemised approach to analyses of the data collected in the Polish health care system in scope of cardiologic diseases in a way ensuring credible data and projections to serve as foundations for development of maps of health needs for individual voivodeships and the entire country.

This is the first such detailed study in scope of heart diseases. It covers the patient treatment paths observed in the data of public payers (National Health Fund) carried out in under the common health care system in Poland and supplements the information collected in registers (e.g. the National Register of Acute Coronary Syndromes). The presented content is a must-read for health care executives, advisors, and analysts.

The publication starts with contemplations in scope of the specifics of cardiologic diseases and diversity of causes, symptoms, and treatment methods. This is followed by the quantitative approach to modelling of prevalence processes in cardiology and the models of coronary artery disease treatment structure, acute coronary syndrome treatment structure, heart arrhythmia and cardiac conduction treatment structure, atrial fibrillation and flutter treatment structure, and heart failure treatment structure. The publication closes with the results of the cardiologic disease projection model for the years 2015-2025.
